The Art Moore Fat Ass 25 & 50km 2020

(description by Rich Oldrieve, event host)
"The Art Moore FA 25K & 50K has been revived to honor his legacy.  Art was a CWRRC member who was an ultra-runner who was legendary throughout the world. In his long career before falling victim to brain cancer, Art finished almost 1000 races that were at least 26.2 miles long. He also had an absent-minded professor air to him. For example, I saw him run several Mohican 100 mile run wearing a professor’s button down white long sleeve shirt, and if you had asked (which I didn’t because I myself was a professor at the time and had worn button down shirts on long runs before), he would given you a long explanation as to why it was the perfect shirt for that day’s weather conditions.  Another time, shortly after they put up the fence to keep concrete from falling on runners traversing the all-purpose trail under the Hilliard Road bridge, I saw Art counting his steps, and asked him why.  He said, he wanted to determine how much longer the asphalt detour was than the original trail. (And of course I absent-mindedly forgot the distance within minutes of hearing it—and five years later the fence is still there)."
